Neil Lennon and his squad have headed out to Italy today ahead of their Europa League clash with AC Milan on Thursday night.

It’s another tough test for the Hoops, who are in the midst of a difficult run of results, and while Celtic won’t be able to progress to the knockout stages of the competition after only picking up a point from their four group-stages fixtures so far, the Hoops boss believes the team is capable of producing a good performance in the San Siro against the current Serie A leaders.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Celtic manager said: “We’re all in agreement that we must do better and we have to do that with results and performances.

“It only takes the flick of a switch. I think we’re lacking a little bit of confidence, a little bit of belief at the minute but it can turn around very quickly and then we build from that. So tomorrow, we’re looking for a performance and a result to start with.

'For 20 years, from my own point of view, I’ve done everything in my power to bring success to the club and the fans, and that’s not going to change.'

“I don’t see any disjointedness amongst the group, and they’re definitely determined to turn things around. They’re hungry and they’ve felt the wrath, if you want to call it, of the supporters. It surprised some of them, it shook a few of them up, but they want to put things right for them and obviously the club and myself as well.

“It’s a difficult time because of the results, and we know we’re better than that. That’s the point we’re trying to make to the players - you just need to find that little bit of extra zest and zing. I know it sounds like I’m repeating myself time and time again, but we do believe that we will turn it around and quickly.”

The Celtic manager confirmed that Mohamed Elyounoussi hasn’t travelled with the team to Italy and will miss out through injury, while Christopher Jullien, who has played two games since being out of action for two months, is a doubt for the game against AC Milan.

“It’s got to be a concerted effort, whether it be from me, my coaches and the players and we’re confident that we can turn it around," he said. “We’re confident that we can go to Italy and put in a good performance, and if we can get a result that would be great. Then we can build from there.”
