Celtic stretched their unbeaten domestic run to 11 games after a 1-0 win at home over Hearts. Kyogo’s near-post finish in the first half was enough to seal all three points in an entertaining game at Celtic Park.

Ange Postecoglou's side dominated the early proceedings, creating a number of chances and putting Hearts under pressure. Carl Starfelt went close with a header inside seven minutes before both David Turnbull and James Forrest had efforts.

Then came the big opportunity for Celtic to take the lead. Brilliant play by Turnbull to nip the ball high up the park, he then played in Jota whose shot was spilt by Craig Gordon in the Hearts goal. The ball fell perfectly for James Forrest and just when he looked to tap it home, Gordon recovered to get a touch on the ball which diverted Forrest’s strike on to the post from around three yards out.

The Bhoys were playing with real intent and aggression and they didn’t let that missed opportunity faze them. Jota was next to have a crack at goal, cutting inside from the left and firing an effort over the top of the bar.

Gordon was keeping Hearts in it at this stage and made a terrific fingertip save to keep the scores level on 24 minutes. A corner kick for Celtic was cleared only as far as Callum McGregor, who hit a long-range drive that took a deflection and forced the Hearts keeper into touching it wide.

Hearts couldn’t get a foothold in the game but did have an effort on goal just after the half-hour mark, but it was an easy take for Joe Hart from Craig Halkett’s effort.

But then just moments later on the 34^th minute, Celtic broke the deadlock. Tom Rogic did well to slide in Anthony Ralston on the overlapping run down the right-wing, who fired in a wicked first-time cross to find Kyogo’s arrowing run at the near post and the striker slammed it past Gordon for his 14^th goal of the season.

It would be Ralston's last action of the game as he was forced off injured, with Adam Montgomery coming on.
