“I’m so grateful to the manager for putting so much trust in me, but not just him, though. It’s also the trainers and team-mates.

“On top of that, the fans who support me make it just a big family and I can’t quite describe with words how special the relationships are. I’m very grateful to be playing in this big family.

“For me, fans are like treasures. In any situation, good or bad, they have unconditional support for the team and myself, and that’s why all I want to do is score and put smiles on their face and make them happy. It’s such a special relationship to me.”

Adjusting to a new club can be a challenge for any player, but in Kyogo’s situation, the 26-year-old has had to adapt to new surroundings halfway across the world, all without knowing the language.

While being able to communicate off the park has been a challenge, he’s managed to do his talking on the pitch, scoring 16 goals and even surprising himself by his start to life at Celtic and in Scotland.

“I’m very surprised at how quickly I’ve adjusted but I do believe it’s due to the support and the trust of the team-mates,” he said.

'Everyone in Japan is shocked and excited by the success so far. I’m happy to share the good news in Japan, but I need to focus more and get the results I need here.'

“Not many players play here from Japan which is why they are shocked and also because I’ve been able to feel accepted very fast. I have a lot of support from fans, so I guess people are surprised by how fast I’ve adapted.

“However, I’m still not satisfied and I need to provide more results, and my goal is to put smiles on people’s faces.”
