New Celtic signing Liel Abada said it was an honour to sign for Celtic and added he could not wait to begin working with his new teammates this week.

The highly-rated 19-year-old Israeli international agreed a five-year-deal with the club today (Wednesday) from Israeli side Maccabi Petah Tikva.

Abada’s performances with his club last season attracted interest from several major European clubs, but the winger committed his future to Celtic and is the third new player to arrive under Ange Postecoglou.

He expected to begin training with his new teammates on Friday (July 16^th) once the team return to training at Lennoxtown from their pre-season training camp in Wales.

Speaking exclusively to the official Celtic website, Abada discussed how excited to complete the move and added he was looking forward to getting down to business.

“It feels amazing to sign for a club like Celtic,” said the Israeli international. “This is a huge club and it's an honour to sign for Celtic. I know the fans are incredible. I have watched some Celtic games in Israel so I know how amazing these fans are and how special this stadium is. I can’t wait to get out on the pitch to play and help my teammates bring more success to the club.

“I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates and the manager. I have heard great things about the facilities at Lennoxtown so I’m excited to get out on the training pitch and get down to work.”
