A double from Adam Brooks helped secure a 3-1 victory over Stirling University, putting the Celtic B team back into second place in the Lowland League table.

It wasn't the best of starts for Tommy McIntyre's team thought as Stirling Uni were quick off the mark, putting themselves 1-0 up in the fourth minute.

A ball was played over the top of the Celts defence, into the path of Jamie Penker, who headed the ball over Tobi Oluwayemi and into the net.

Celtic immediately pushed forward in search of an equaliser, with Ben Doak on the right wing a constant threat, using his skill to put in some good crosses into the box.

Owen Moffat tried his luck with a long-range attempt from the edge of the box on the 15^th minute but his effort went wide.

Then on 25 minutes, Ben Summers got the equaliser. Set up well by Doak who got past his man and crossed it into the centre of the box, Summers was there to slot the ball beyond the keeper.

Both teams were going for it towards the end of the first half with the Celts almost getting in front from dangerous crosses by Brooks, Doak and Magnus MacKenzie, but the teams remained level at the break.

The play resumed in an end-to-end fashion, with a Stirling shot saved by Oluwayemi and Doak’s first-time shot being saved by Ben Fry.

Celtic got their noses in front with their second goal came in the 57^th minute from a brilliant counter-attacking move, with Summers playing a great ball into Brooks who was able to slot it into the right corner of the goal.

The B team increased the tempo again after taking the lead to go in search of the third goal to try and see out the match.

But the University side weren’t going to just roll over and had another good chance from outside the box which Oluwayemi had to smartly tip over the bar.

Stirling put more pressure on late into the game as on the 84^th minute a free-kick from the edge of the box was struck over the bar.

But Brooks had the last word in the 86^th minute, showcasing his composure with a great one-on-one finish to end the game and give Celtic the three points with a 3-1 victory.
