Celtic are aiming to make it seven league wins out of seven this weekend when they take on St Mirren, and Greg Taylor is anticipating a tough test in Paisley for the Champions.

The Hoops defender has carried last season’s impressive form into the new campaign, and he will be part of the Celtic contingent with the Scotland national team for their Nations League fixtures next week.

But his focus is only on the 90 minutes that Celtic face this Sunday and the need to continue the strong start to the domestic campaign.

Speaking ahead of the game against St Mirren, Taylor said: As a team we are in a good place. Domestically, we’ve been really strong and in Europe the performances have been there.

“With the next four games in the Champions League, we aim to turn those performances into a few more positive results.

'Every game’s an opportunity to get better. The manager stresses that every day and we also know that at a club this season, you have to perform in every game.'

"It doesn’t matter if it’s Champions League, cup or league. The reason that we’re getting to compete at the Champions League level is because of how strong our domestic form was last year, so we know it’s so important.

“We’re six games in and there is a lot of football to be played, but all our focus is on St Mirren and trying to make sure it’s a strong performance and that seventh win.

“We know it’s an important game. It’ll be a difficult game going to St Mirren, so we want to finish strongly before going into the international games, and then when we come back from there, continue that strong form.”
