Celtic FC B made it three wins in a row in the Scottish Lowland League as they ran out 2-1 winners over Dumbarton on Saturday afternoon.

An early strike from Lenny Agbaire was quickly cancelled out by the home side. However, the Bhoys continued to push and grabbed a second-half winner through Daniel Cummings.

Following on from their European exploits in midweek, the young Hoops were quickly back in action at Dumbarton Stadium.

And as they looked to bounce back from a frustrating 4-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid, they made the perfect start to proceedings against Broomhill.

It was Lenny Agbaire who opened the scoring for Celtic after a bright start to the game as the defender smashed the ball home into the top corner with a fantastic finish inside the area.

After opening the scoring early on, the Celts were then denied a quick-fire double as Ben Quinn raced through on goal, only to see his low effort saved by the goalkeeper.

Despite the positive start for Celtic, it took just over 10 minutes for Broomhill to level up the scoring. Pouncing upon a misplaced pass at the break, Corey O’Donnell made no mistake with his finish after rounding Josh Clarke and tapping home into an empty net.

As the first half came to a close, the Hoops looked to put themselves back in front as Daniel Cummings and Rocco Vata aimed to threaten the Broomhill goal. However, they couldn’t trouble the home shot-stopper.

Vata continued to cause trouble for Broomhill in the second half as the young Irishman forced the goalkeeper into two saves with powerful strikes on goal.

Broomhill were also looking to threaten the Celtic goal, but Clarke between the sticks for the Hoops was a match for anything that came his way.

As the half went on, Celtic began to take more control as they went on the hunt for a winner and that ultimately came their way with just over 20 minutes remaining.

After scoring a double in the Hoops’ last league outing, Daniel Cummings was on the scoresheet once again as he turned the ball home with an instinctive finish at the back post.

With just minutes left in the game, the home side were reduced to 10 men following a late challenge from Magnus Mackenzie.

Victory at Dumbarton Stadium against Broomhill made it three wins from three for Darren O’Dea and Stephen McManus’ side as they responded to the midweek defeat with a solid performance and win.
