Celtic FC B maintained their unbeaten start to 2024 after running out 3-1 winners over Bo’ness United on Saturday afternoon.

After taking the lead early on in the match through Corey Thomson, the Bhoys conceded a goal just before the break as both sides headed into half-time level.

However, the Celts showcased their dominance on the match, scoring twice through Daniel Cummings and Jude Bonnar within 10 minutes in the second half to seal all three points.

Returning to the Excelsior Stadium for the first time since the beginning of January, Celtic were back on home soil after another busy month of action on the road.

And it proved to be a successful afternoon for the Hoops, who were on the front foot from the start of proceedings.

Bruno Davidson came close to opening the scoring within minutes of the first whistle, driving inside before directing a left-footed effort just wide of the target.

It didn’t take long for the young side to find the lead, though, as Corey Thomson continued his fine form in front of goal.

Turning home a sweeping move from close-range, the midfielder handed the Celts a well-deserved first half advantage.

However, as the game approached the break, the away side were able to level up the scoring as Lewis Hawkins turned the ball home from a corner into the box.

The young Hoops didn’t let that affect their confidence or momentum, though, and went on to put in a strong second-half display.

Just 10 minutes after the restart, Daniel Cummings pounced to turn the ball home with a half volleyed effort after running through one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Shortly after, Jude Bonnar powered the ball home into the back of the net from Justin Osagie’s low cross into the box.

The Celts continued to push for more in front of goal too as Bruno Davidson forced the goalkeeper into a smart stop late on.

But all three points were ultimately secured for the Hoops, who took their unbeaten run to seven games across all competitions.

Next up for the young Celtic side is the start of their defence of the Glasgow Cup as they take on Rangers this coming Wednesday.
