Celtic FC B rounded off February in emphatic style, running out 7-0 winners at home against Civil Service Strollers on Wednesday evening.

Since the turn of the year, the Bhoys have found real form, remaining unbeaten in 2024 – a run that was extended to eleven 11with victory over the Edinburgh side.

Taking a 3-0 lead in at the break, thanks to a goal from Mitchell Robertson and a first-half Daniel Cummings brace, it was an impressive 45 minutes of action from the young Hoops.

It would get even better in the second-half as Cummings completed his hat-trick, before Ben Quinn, Lewis Dobbie and Samuel Isiguzo followed up with goals of their own.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, B team coach Darren O’Dea expressed his delight at what was an outstanding performance from his side, lauding some of the football he had watched from the sidelines.

He said: “It was an outstanding performance. It was just an exceptional game to watch, the quality of play was at a seriously high level.

“Technically, we were at our very highest level tonight and we were also ruthless in the final third.

“Some of the forward play, in particular the two strikers in Lewis Dobbie and Daniel Cummings, it was sensational. They end up getting their goals, but the quality of play was excellent.

“How can you not be pleased with them? You try to set them standards, and find ways to push it forward, but since the turn of the year we have found real consistency.

'We challenge them before the game. Young players are known for being inconsistent, but now do we start taking our foot off the pedal or do we really go for it.'

“Tonight, they probably gave me the answer to that.”
