Liam Scales
Liam Scales joined the Bhoys in August, 2021 from Shamrock Rovers.
The versatile defender enjoyed a breakthrough season for Celtic in 2023/24 where he established himself as a key player, with his performances instrumental in the team's League and Scottish Cup success. Making over 40 appearances across all competitions throughout the season, the Republic of Ireland international recently agreed a new four-year deal which will see him remain at the club until 2028.
Scales began his career at Arklow Town, in County Wicklow, Ireland. In 2015, then aged 17, the defender moved to the University College Dublin, where he helped the side win the League of Ireland First Division title in 2018.
The 26 year old made over a century of appearances for the side and then at the end of the 2017/18 campaign was named by his peers in the PFAI First Division Team of the Year.
In the summer of 2020, Scales swapped the University of Dublin for Shamrock Rovers where he went on to make over 50 appearances in the heart of defence for the side that wears green and white Hoops. In the summer transfer window of 2021, the 23-year-old centre-back committed himself to Paradise on a four-year deal.
In his first season of 2020/21 Scales made five appearances for the Celtic first team and then in 2022/23 he went on loan to Aberdeen where he made 37 appearances, playing a vital role in the final nine matches of the season where the club conceded just two goals.

In October 2023 he earned his first senior cap for the Republic of Ireland in a 2-0 defeat to Greece at the Aviva Stadium and in June 2024 featured in two international friendlies against Hungary and Portugal.
