Fran Alonso
Women's Head Coach Fran Alonso joined the Hoops ahead of their 2019 preseason trip to Gran Canaria as the first ever manager of a full-time Celtic FC Women side.
Bringing huge top-level football experience, having been Ronald Koeman’s first team assistant at Everton in the English Premier League and Mauricio Pochettino’s technical coach at Southampton, Alonso joined from Lewes FC in England, where he was Head Coach for a year, leading the club in the FA Women’s Championship in England.
Alonso's first term at the helm brought instant success and history, leading the Celts to their first ever Champions League campaign having brought the SWPL1 title race down to the final day before bringing the Hoops their first silverware since 2010 winning the 2021 League Cup after beating Glasgow City 1-0 in the final.
