Shen Menglu

Chinese international Shen Menglu joined the Celts in the summer of 2022.

The exciting wide player signed a two-year-deal from Atletico Ouriense in Portugal having previously plied her trade in the green and white hoops of Sporting Lisbon after moving to Europe at just 19. 

The 20-year-old former Chinese youth international joins fellow countrywoman Shen Mengyu to Glasgow, who became the first ever Chinese woman to become a professional footballer in the UK.

The speedy technician can play in any of the wide positions strengthening the side's offensive and defensive options as the team looks to build on last season’s success.

Known as Lu to her teammates arrived in time to make her league debut in a 9-0 victory of Hibernian on the opening day of the 2022/23 SWPL season. 

With domestic and international experience in her native China, and having already gained invaluable playing time in European football, Menglu is hoping to continue making an impact on the Scottish game after her first season playing in Glasgow.
